China is building full-size replicas of weapons and military equipment used by the Taiwanese army for attack training.
According to the Ukrainian outlet Militarnyi, several photos released by DD Geopolitics on X (formerly Twitter) show faithful replicas of Western and Taiwanese platforms.
Among them are the M142 HIMARS rocket system, the Thunderbolt-2000 multiple launch rocket system, various Humvee variants, and the CM-32 Clouded Leopard infantry fighting vehicle.
Replicas of other armored vehicles and launchers have also been spotted in training fields. It is noted that the scale and variety of these replicas have been increasing rapidly.

The construction of these mock-ups has been underway since at least mid-2024, according to Militarnyi. However, the new models feature significantly greater detail and accuracy.
These systems allow Chinese forces to practice strikes against targets very similar to those deployed on the island during controlled exercises.
In this way, Beijing is preparing for a scenario in which Taiwan’s main ground forces and U.S.-made platforms are rapidly neutralized in the event of a possible conflict.
